register or POS System. We will then build an Interface
cable to connect from our system to yours.
Single Cash Register Interface Systems
start at $895.00
Note:
The system requires a custom cable the average price is

The
Single Register Text Inserter
The Single Register Text Inserter is designed for
single register applications on any BNC video switching
system. The text inserter sends the transaction data
from one register onto the camera video signal. This
composite image can be viewed live or in playback
on a video recorder, analog or digital. Questionable
transactions such as VOID and NO SALE can be alarmed
by flashing text for easy recognition and can be reviewed
in minutes. The alarms can be programmed to remain
active for a specified length of time for viewing
purposes. |
 |
The
Multiple Register Text Inserter
The Multiple Register Text Inserter is designed to
communicate with up to 10 register interfaces. It
superimposes transaction information onto corresponding
video of the cashier on a one register per channel
basis. The text inserter is installed between the
cameras and the video processor, may be used with
anolog or digital recorders, multiplexers, quads,
etc. The composite image with the text overlay can
be viewed live or reviewed later from a video recorder.
Questionable transactions such as VOID and NO SALE
can be reviewed easily by using the flashing text
alarm features. In addition, both the single and multiple
interface text inserters are compatible with the CYA
Managment Software Package. |

1.
Video out from the security camera goes to video in on the
switcher. This security camera typically watches the general
area, including the cash register, counter, employee and
customer.
2. Most low-end cash registers require the installation
of an RS-232 board from Skyway or the register vendor. Some
registers utilize an RS-232 printer tap, while others with
no RS-232 ability must be fitted with an additional interface
module which converts the printer data to RS-232 for the
switcher.
3. Video out from the switcher goes onto the G-Max
video surveillance system.
4. Video out to the monitor.

No
Sales are the most common
exception. Some legitimate uses are making change or correcting
change mistakes. Still, the No Sale should always be treated
as an exceptional transaction. Towards the end of a shift,
whether the clerk was performing short rings (ringing up
an item for an amount much lower than its actual value),
pilfering, or substitute scanning (scanning a tag of lower
value than the actual item), they will have to remove the
accumulated money before their shift ends. Therefore it
is especially important to check for all No Sale transactions
within the last hour of a shift.
Voids
are used after the customer has left
and the same transaction has been voided. The money is still
in the register and will have to be removed then or towards
the end of the shift.
Returns/Refunds
are usually questionable when no exchange
is being made and cash is paid out. Items are pulled from
inventory and fictitious refunds are given to friends, relatives
or the clerks themselves.
Cancels:
this is where a transaction is partially
rung up. The clerk asks the customer for the money and if
the customer does not ask for a receipt and leaves, then
the clerk cancels the sale and pockets the money.
Purchases
or Payouts: most small
businesses pay for miscellaneous expenses from their cash
register drawer, but this practice lends itself to abuse
by a dishonest clerk. The clerk rings a payout and, conspiring
with the vendor, overpays the vendor and later collects,
or simply makes the payout for more and keeps the difference.
Dishonest employees can generate fake or alter receipts
and pocket the money. All Payouts from a register should
be scrutinized carefully.
